FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State returns to the Save Mart Center for its final nonconference home game on Monday, December 29, against the Long Beach State 49ers. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. The game can be heard live on 1430 ESPN Radio. It's Monday Madness and all tickets are buy-one-get-one FREE (of equal value). Scouting Long Beach State
Long Beach State is 3-7 and coming off a 74-61 home victory over fellow WAC foe New Mexico State before the Christmas break on December 22. Whitney Fields leads the 49ers in scoring at 12.1 points a game and in rebounding at 7.2 rebounds. Courtney Jacob is scoring in double figures at 11.7 points a game.

Bulldogs vs. Long Beach State
Long Beach State leads the overall series 19-9 but the Bulldogs have won four out of the last five meetings. The Bulldogs defeated the 49ers 66-55 in Long Beach last year. Long Beach State's last win over the Bulldogs was a 72-56 win on November 13, 1998 in Long Beach.

11-Game Start
Fresno State's 7-4 start to the season tied the school record for the ninth best start in school history. Three Bulldog teams have started the season 10-1 (1985-86, 86-87, 2004-05) while two teams have started the year 9-2 (1979-80 and 1982-83). Three teams have started the year 8-3 (1971-72, 1972-73 and 1989-90). This years Bulldog team is one of eight teams to start the season 7-4.

Post Christmas Games
Monday's game against Long Beach State is the first time the Bulldogs have played at home for its first game following the Christmas holiday since December 30, 2003 when the Bulldogs hosted Denver and won 53-50. Under Adrian Wiggins, Fresno State is 2-1 in its first game back after Christmas, winning at UC Riverside 68-67 in 2007 and at Pepperdine 68-59 on December 30, 2006. The Bulldogs lost 77-67 at Texas Tech on December 29, 2005.

`Dogs Rank Second in Attendance Among California Schools
Fresno State finished the 2007-08 season ranked second in attendance among all Division I California schools. Stanford was No. 1 at 4,009 fans while Fresno State averaged 2,458 fans a contest. Cal was third at 2,363 with UCLA fourth at 1,675 and USC fifth at 1,316.

Ross Climbing the School Record Books
Jaleesa Ross has hit 123 3-pointers on 297 attempts in her short career at Fresno State. The 123 three's ties her for sixth place on the Career 3-point Field Goals leaders. She needs three 3-pointers to pass Geri Gainey (1988-91) and move into fifth place. Her current 3-point field goal percentage is .414 good for first place on the career percentage Top 10 list.
