Madrazo Wins MVP Honor Against Georgia

By Kelly Mason "For the most part I'm pleased with how everyone rode today," said head coach Collins Daye. "We prepared well for this meet, and we just made some silly mistakes over Fences. Overall I couldn't have asked them to ride much better." In Equitation on the Flat, senior Lanie Madrazo led the way winning the MVP honor for the event. She scored a 78 on horse Nottingham and won her point against Georgia's Caitlyn Francis. Also winning her point on the Flat was Macy Wilson scoring a 70. Fresno State tied 2-2 in Equitation on the Flat and fell 0-4 in Equitation over Fences. "We practiced really hard all week and I felt prepared going into today's competition," said Madrazo. "I'm really happy to see the hard work pay off." In Horsemanship Kirsten McKillop was the lone Bulldog to score her point for Fresno State. She scored a 75.5 on horse Boyd defeating her Georgia opponent Anna Sasser. In Reining, Lauren Crivelli won her point and recorded the highest event score of 74. The Fresno State Bulldogs will host a double header this Friday, Feb. 1 against Auburn at 9 a.m. and Kansas State at 1 p.m.
