Fresno State jumped to an early lead winning three of the five matches in Equitation on the Flat. Captain Kelsey Bullock, Tarynn Shada and Kim Hewson-Budnik each won their matches for the Dogs.

Fresno State's Caitlin Marshall and Jessica Kissell each rode well, especially Kissell who had the second-highest score of any rider, but she lost her match to Marian Michaelson 85-82.

Hewson-Budnik scored an 81 while Bullock and Shada had a 66 and 71, respectively.

The Jackrabbits won four of five matches in Equitation over Fences, which has been a strong event for the Dogs this season. Katie Nenneker was stellar for the Dogs scoring a season-high of 86, but she was on the only rider to win a match. Jennifer Jory scored a 67 but lost her match by one point.

The Dogs also dropped four of their five matches in Western Horsemanship, despite strong rides by all five student-athletes. Adriane Smith won her match with a score of 74.5. Each of the other four riders has higher scores than that, led by Asheline Beeson (79) and Rebecca Flood (78.5).

Captain Keri Blackledge and Elizabeth Thomasian each earned wins in Reining but the Dogs dropped the event 3-2. Thomasian and Jill Tebbe each scored a 76 to lead the Dogs.

The Dogs return to action Oct. 25 hosting No. 5 Oklahoma State for a dual match at the Student Horse Center.
