FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State equestrian team is back in the saddle for the start of the New Year as they host its second intersquad scrimmage of the 2012-13 season. The scrimmage will be held at the Fresno State Student Horse Center on the corner of Woodrow and Barstow and is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
This second intersquad scrimmage marks the starting point of a three-team home stand as the 'Dogs will host the University of Georgia on Saturday, Jan. 26 along with Kansas State and Auburn on Friday, Feb. 1. The Bulldogs will host two more home competitions against New Mexico State and South Dakota State on Friday, March 1.
In the first part of the 2012-13 season, the Bulldogs hosted their first team scrimmage and went 0-3 on a tough Texas road trip as they faced SMU, Baylor and Texas A&M.
Individually, Fresno State's junior Lauren Crivelli had a very strong performance at the American Quarter Horse Association Amateur World Show in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was selected to compete in a Horsemanship competition featuring some of the top riders in the county. Fairing very well, Crivelli made it all the way to the final round finishing third out of 16 riders.
