FRESNO, Calif.--Freshman Taylor Brown is one of eight collegiate equestrian reiners invited to compete in the Sun Circuit Shootout on Sunday, Feb. 2 in Scottsdale Ariz.

Brown will compete in a head-to-head, single-elimination reining competition against seven other collegiate riders representing Baylor University, West Texas A&M University, University of South Carolina, Ohio State University, New Mexico State University, Delaware State University and South Dakota State University.

"We are really excited that she has this opportunity," interim head coach Eric Hubbard said. "To have a great start to a great season and to be successful in the event would be really great for Fresno State and for Taylor."

As a freshman, Brown has already had a successful season. In her five events as a Bulldog, she has earned four wins and tied once. Against both University of South Carolina and New Mexico State, Brown grabbed Most Outstanding Player awards.

See Brown and the rest of the Bulldog equestrian team compete at home in a tournament against SMU and Baylor on Feb. 21 and 22.
