FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State equestrian team will honor seven seniors at this Friday's double header match. There will be a senior ceremony held in between the two matches. The Bulldogs will recognize seniors: Lisa Beach, Christa Beezley, Lauren Carr, Sydney Coletti, Kimberly HewsonBudnik, Lanie Madrazo and Marisa Mohn.

A Look At The Competition
The Bulldogs will host their second double header of the season this Friday, March 1 against two teams that are both tied for 10th in the NCEA Coaches' Poll. The 'Dogs will face No. 10 New Mexico State at 9 a.m. and then No. 10 South Dakota State at 1 p.m.

Four 'Dogs Win Points In Oklahoma
The Bulldogs brought some very strong rides to Oklahoma Saturday afternoon, outscoring the No. 3 OSU Cowgirls 1449.5-1423.5, but when it came to the point total to determine the victory the Bulldogs fell 15-4. In Reining, Sonya Koch and Kirsten McKillop led the way each scoring a point and Lauren Crivelli in Horsemanship earned her point as well. Kimberly HewsonBudnik was the only English rider to earn her point.

HewsonBudnik Wins Two, 'Dogs Fall To TCU
The Fresno State Bulldogs faced the No. 8 Texas Christian Horned Frogs in Fort Worth, Texas and despite a close raw score total, the 'Dogs fell to TCU 14-6. On the Flat, Kimberly HewsonBudnik won her point with her season-high score of 93 Also winning her point on the Flat was Macy Wilson with an 83. HewsonBudnik won her second point of the day in Equitation over Fences (71). Belle Calkin also won her point over Fences scoring a 59. In Horsemanship Kirsten McKillop and Lauren Crivelli won their points and Ciara Kozlowski won her point in Reining.

HewsonBudnik Takes Third
Senior English rider Kimberly HewsonBudnik competed in Equitation over Fences for the Collegiate Equitation Challenge at the Winter Equestrian Festival Friday, Feb. 8. HewsonBudnik had some standout rides propelling her to an overall third place finish out of 16 of the finest collegiate riders.

Wilson Names Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week
Sophomore Macy Wilson went two for two in her match-ups in the double header versus No. 2 Auburn and No. 6 Kansas State. In the morning match against Auburn, Wilson earned her first Most Outstanding Player award of the season for her competitive ride in Equitation on the Flat. She scored a 75 defeating her Auburn opponent by 20 points. In the afternoon match against Kansas State, Wilson won her point again on the Flat with a score of 77.

Wilson, Kozlowski Earn MOP Honors
In the Bulldogs double header on Friday, Feb. 1 the 'Dogs were neck-and-neck with the Auburn Tigers, but fell short 7-8 in a close match. In the afternoon match the Bulldogs fell to the Kansas State Wildcats 12-4. Macy Wilson and Ciara Kozlowski each earned Most Outstanding Player honors for their performances against Auburn.

Madrazo Earns MVP Honor Against Georgia
In the first home competition of 2013 the Fresno State Bulldogs fell to the Georgia Bulldogs, 12-4 on Saturday afternoon. In Equitation on the Flat, senior Lanie Madrazo led the way winning the MVP honor for the event with a score of 78. Also winning her point on the Flat was Macy Wilson scoring a 70. In Horsemanship Kirsten McKillop won her point with a 75.5 and in Reining, Lauren Crivelli won her point and recorded the highest event score of 74.

Eric Hubbard: New Western Coach
Head coach Collins Daye announced the hiring of the new Western coach, Eric Hubbard, at the beginning of the New Year. Hubbard grew up riding horses on his family's small farm in Idaho and has had a passion for the horse industry ever since. He brings knowledge from his extensive collegiate riding and coaching experience as well as knowledge from being a professional horse trainer for years. Hubbard has a passion for the sport and loves teaching, so this opportunity was the right fit for him. Read more about Hubbard on, tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 25.

Crivelli Finishes Third
In November junior Western rider Lauren Crivelli had to opportunity to compete at the inaugural Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge at the American Quarter Horse Association World Show in Oklahoma, Okla. Sixteen of the nation's top collegiate horsemanship riders were invited to compete at the AQHA World Show. Crivelli made it to the semifinals scoring a 144 good for a third place finish.
