FRESNO, Calif.--Fresno State's home-tournament sweep over Baylor and Southern Methodist University shook things up in the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association rankings for the better. The Bulldogs are now ranked No. 9 in the nation.

The Bulldogs entered last week's tournament unranked. Baylor entered at No. 2 in the nation. The Bears had secured this spot for the past three weekly rankings.

After beating out both Baylor and Southern Methodist University, Fresno State now joins the national rankings at No. 9. The upset for the Bears dropped them down to No. 5.

The last time the Fresno State equestrian team was ranked was in Fall 2012 in the Coach's Poll.

"The team is feeling very good," interim head coach Eric Hubbard said. "This is great for us heading into our next tournament and looking ahead towards Nationals."

The `Dogs hit the road again and seek to continue their winning streak on March 28 and 29 at Brookings, South Dakota for a non-conference tournament against South Dakota State University, University of Tennessee at Martin and Delaware State University.

Nationals will be held on April 17-19.
