As a freshman from Bend, Ore., Christa Beezley impressed in her first collegiate match with MVP honors, the most prestigious award of the event, in the Horsemanship competition on the Western side. Beezley defeated New Mexico State's Kate Goodwin, the Aggie's best rider in the event, by a score of 78 to 75.5. Beezley's showing helped Fresno State beat New Mexico State 12-8 for the first time in school history and also marked the first Bulldog victory over the Aggies in the Western discipline (6-4).
