FRESNO, Calif.-- The Fresno State equestrian team will ride on its home dirt for the first time this season in the Red and Blue Scrimmage Saturday at the Student Horse Center.

Coming off of a tough opening weekend on the road against the top three ranked teams, Fresno State looks to build on the experience it gained in the SEC and continue to ride strong in Saturday's scrimmage.

"It is an excellent opportunity to be able to see all riders compete and have a really fun event at home," head coach Collins Daye said.

The team is looking forward to the scrimmage to gain more experience.

"We don't have as many competitions as other teams, so this is a great competitive opportunity for all of us to get in the ring and really hone in on some of the things we want to do when we go and perform and compete against other teams," Daye said.

This is also the first and last time to see the equestrian team ride in Fresno for 2013.

Fresno State will hit the road again on Nov. 1 and 2 for a tournament against Sacred Heart, New Mexico State and Delaware State in Dover, Del for the last competition of 2013.
