Fresno State in Ninth at Spartan Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. -
The women's golf team placed in ninth place out of 15 teams on Monday after two rounds at the Spartan Invitational. The Bulldogs shot 314-311 - 625 on the par 72, 6,179-yard at the Almaden Country Club. The host San Jose (596) is leading the tournament by two strokes over Cal. UC Irvine (600) and Washington (601) are following close behind in third and fourth.
The defending Kitahara champion Taylor Siebert is tied for tenth place at the Spartan Invitational. Siebert is leading the Bulldogs with 76-75 -151 to finish 7-over par. Laura Luethke tied for 25th with two back-to-back scores of 77. Hali Coppin tied for 53rd after posting an 81 and 80. Pia Escandon (85-79 - 164) tied for 60th place and Tiffany Derksen (80-87 - 167) took 65th place.
UC Irvine's Selanee' Henderson, the tournament's defending individual champion, took the lead after the first 18 with a one-under 71 and added an even par 72 in the afternoon for a 143. Henderson has a one-shot lead over California's Pia Halbig, who had the afternoon's low score with a 71, and is at even par 144. Christina Yoon of Washington is third at 146.
The 54-hole tournament concludes with 18 holes on Wednesday, March 4.
