Bulldogs Finish in Top Ten

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Fresno State women's golf team completed the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational on Tuesday, March 5 and finished in eighth place for its third top 10 finish of the spring season. In the two-day, 54-hole tournament, the Bulldogs shot 55-over par for a total score of 919 (300-302-317). On the day, the 'Dogs shot 29-over par for a score of 317. Freshman Hannah Sodersten, who finished day one in a tie for 20th place swung into a three-way tie for 11th place finish. Sodersten made seven birdies and one eagle throughout the tournament, and shot eight-over par for a total score of 224 (74-76-74). The second leader of the Bulldogs was sophomore Madchen Ly, who trailed right behind Sodersten. Ly (74-74-78--226) shot ten over par and finished in a tie for 16th place. "Hannah and Madchen both had a good tourney to finish in the top 20 with the quality of players that are here is impressive," head coach Angie Cates-Moore said. Stanford took the team title with a 14-over par, 878 finish (287-291-300).
The Bulldogs tee off their fourth tournament of the spring season on March 25-27 in Kapalua, Maui at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic.
