    KAPALUA, Maui-- The Fresno State women's golf team competed in round two of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Kapalua, Maui and sit in a two-way tie for 10th place out of 18 teams.

    The Bulldogs carded 12-over, 300 on the day.

    "The team is doing a great job reading the grain on these greens, that's something we don't see to often and they've got it figured out," head coach Angie Cates-Moore said. "They feel comfortable on this course."

    Following Machen Ly's tie for 24th place in round one, Ly swung into the top 20 in round two. Ly fired an even par on the day and sits two-over par, 146 (74-72) on the tournament with seven birdies.

    "Madchen had a great back 9 shooting 2 under par," Cates-Moore said. "She's in a grove and doing a lot of things right. She should feel really good about where her game is."

    Along with Ly, senior Shaylee Yano sits in the top 20. On the day, Yano made two birdies and fired three-over par, 75. Yano holds 146 (71-75) on the tournament.

    "Shaylee put up another solid score after her under par round yesterday," Cates-Moore said. "Her game is solid."

    Ly and Yano both sit in a tie for 17th place along with six other competitors.

    The Bulldogs trail one stroke behind No. 13 UC Davis as the 'Dogs hold 22-over par, 598 (298-300) on the tournament.
