Bulldogs Tee Off Silverado Showdown

    NAPA, Calif. -- Competing in the co-hosted Silverado Showdown, the Fresno State women's golf team finished day one with three individual top-20 finishes.

    Leading the Bulldogs is Madchen Ly (70-76-146) and Hannah Sodersten (73-73). The duo sits in a tie for 15th place at two-over par, 146.

    Trailing Ly and Sodersten by one stroke is Guðrún Brá Björgvinsdóttir. Björgvinsdóttir sits in a tie for 18th place at three-ovar par, 147 (70-77).

    "Solid play by Madchen, Hannah and Gundrun," head coach Emily Milberger said. "I'm definitely looking forward to some strong performances tomorrow!" The Fresno State women's golf team ended the day in 10th place at 26-over par, 602 (296-306).

    "Excellent start to this event," Milberger said. "A strong first round this morning and we stumbled a little on the way in this afternoon, but finished the round in a good position overall."

    The 'Dogs return to action and face the 75-player field and 15-team field on Tuesday, April 15 at 8:30 a.m. at the Silverado Resort and Spa.
