`Dogs Conclude Tournament Play

PRIMM, Nev. - The final round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge came to a close on Tuesday afternoon with Fresno State (324-318-304--946/+82) shooting a low round of 304, their best of the tournament. The team combined for 19 birdies while tying for 16th.
Lindi Covarrubias shot a 72 in the final round to improve her standings on the day and finish in a tie for 43rd. Louisa Lies (82-78-75--235) finished the day in a tie for 53rd after starting the day tied for 57th.
"Lindi had a very good round today," said head coach Angie Cates-Moore.
"Today was much better," said Cates-Moore. "We still left some shots out there but we had some good stretches of holes out there."
"I'm glad we were able to find some positive results today that we can take with us to Washington State," said Cates-Moore.
Medalist honors went to Caroline Hedwall of Oklahoma State. She held on to the individual lead with a 9-under 207. Pepperdine finished in first with a total of 881. Cal (882) placed second and Chattanooga (883) in third.
The 18-team field includes four teams that appeared in Golfweek's preseason poll, No. 12 Pepperdine, No. 16 Ohio State, No. 18 UNLV and No. 28 Cal.
The Bulldogs head to Pullman, Wash. for competition next week at the Northwest Dodge Dealers Cup.
