Fresno, Calif. --Bulldog Hannah Sodersten finished in the top 25 of the 83-player Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. Sodersten shot 14-over par (78-72-80--230) and took 21st place during this three-day tournament in Sammamish, Wash.
In round three, the freshman made birdies on holes two and six. Sodersten completed the tournament with a total of five birdies.
"Hannah's top 25 finish was great because this was a very competitive field of players and she saw that she can hang with a lot of the great players in the country," head coach Angie Cates-Moore said.
The Fresno State women's golf team completed the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in 12th place out of 16 teams. The Bulldogs shot 90 over par (327-309-318--954).
Madchen Ly shadowed her game from round two and continued to improve her score in round three. Ly shot 1-over par (86-76-73--235) and finished in a tie for 34th place. Ly made birdies on holes two, six and ten and consistently shot one-under par, even-par and one-over par throughout round three.
"Madchen had a great comeback round today," Cates-Moore said. "She played really steady golf and she feels really good about her golf game now and you can see it when she's playing. She is walking with confidence and she is playing really solid golf right now."
The Bulldogs travel south for the Cowgirl Desert Invitational in Palm Springs, Calif. The 'Dogs tee off at Classic Club on Saturday, Oct. 13 for this two-day tournament.
