FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State women’s golf team will open its season on Feb. 15-16 at the Peg Barnard Invitational in Stanford, Calif. hosted by Stanford.
"This is a great time of year as there is so much excitement as we kick off our championship season,” head coach Emily Milberger said. “I am looking forward to starting at this year's Peg Barnard as we have a great combination of experience paired with some strong young talent for this event. This will be a strong field and should be a good start to the season!"
Björgvinsdóttir joins the lineup this season from Hafnarfjordur, Iceland where she played on the Iceland National Team and was an Icelandic Junior Champion.
The two-day tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,084-yard Stanford Golf Course. Competition will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. each.
The Bulldogs will face a field of 12 teams including Mountain West competitors San Diego State, UNLV and San Jose State.
According to GolfStat, the Bulldogs are ranked 102 nationally and sixth among the Mountain West.
