    MADERA, Calif.- Through 18 holes of competition, Fresno State holds a six-stroke lead over Eastern Washington in the inaugural Fresno State Invitational at the Riverbend Golf Course in Madera, Calif.

    Making their historical home debut, the Bulldogs are leading the field with a 306 (+18). Eastern Washington is second at 312 (+24), followed by Montana at 315 (+27), Long Beach State at 316 (+28) and Nevada at 317 (+29) to round out the top five.

    Fresno State's Laura Luethke and Eastern Washington's Carlie Allen are tied for the individual lead at 73 (+1). 16 golfers are have shot scores of under-80 through the first round, including Fresno State's Meggie Fagundes (tied for third place at 75/+3) and Adrianna Chico (tied for eighth place at 77/+5).

    Second round competition is currently in progress, with Luethke approaching the ninth hole as her every swing is being disected by a large contingent of Bulldog fans.
