The Fresno State women's golf team heads to the desert to compete in the 22nd annual WAC Championship for a shot at an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional. The tournament
is held at the 6,163-yard, par-72 Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz. for the third year in a row. San Jose State is the three-time defending champion while Idaho's Kayla Mortellaro returns to defend her individual title. Last year, the Bulldogs shot a season-low 290 during the final round to move from last place into third and Shaylee Yano led the 'Dogs with a season-best eighth place finish with an 11-over.

Regular Season a Wrap for 'Dogs
The Fresno State women's golf team wrapped up their 2011-12 regular season with a 13th place finish at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in Half Moon Bay, Calif. The Bulldogs shot a season-low 294 during the final round and were led by Madchen Ly's 5-over which put her in a tie for 32nd place.
Uhalde Honored for Stanford Title
Sophomore Christine Uhalde was awarded both the WAC Golfer of the Week and Bulldog Student-Athlete of the week for her performance at the Peg Barnard Invitational in Stanford, Calif. Uhalde tied for the individual title at the tournament hosted by Stanford, her first medalist honor of her collegiate career. She fired a 1-under, 70 during the first round, marking both her lowest round of her career and the only under-par performance on the day. Uhalde finished the two-round tournament at 3-over par (70-75--145).
