FRESNO, Calif. -- Earlier this week, the Fresno State women's golf team gathered to celebrate both individual and team efforts over the 2013-14 season.
The Bulldogs reminisced on their accomplishments made throughout the season and were presented with individual and senior awards.
During the 2013-14 season, the Fresno State women's golf team made two eagles, 254 birdies and 1409 pars. Individually, the 'Dogs tied nine records and broke 24 personal scoring program records. As a team, the 'Dogs tied two records and broke ten team scoring program records.
With this season's performances, the Bulldogs tied or broke 13 Mountain West records.
Madchen Ly earned the Bulldog MVP award. Ly led the Bulldogs with the lowest scoring average of 74.04. Ly clinched nine top-25 finishes including four top-10s. In addition Ly was named to the Mountain West All-Conference Second Team and was selected to participate in the 2014 NCAA West Regional Championship.
Guðrún Brá Björgvinsdóttir received the 2014 Outstanding Performance of the Year award. Björgvinsdóttir claimed the 2014 Mountain West Championship with a two-over par, 218 score. Bjorgvinsdottir became just the fourth freshman in Mountain West history to claim the conference title and the third player in the Fresno State women's golf program history to claim a conference title.
Alison Timlin earned the Most Improved Player award after lowering her scoring average by 1.96 strokes to average 79.36 for the 2013-14 season.
Along with celebrating individual and team efforts, the Bulldogs honored seniors Hillary Billingsley, Krysta Clark, Alison Timlin, and Taylor Wilkinson for their commitment and leadership to the team.
