CORAL SPRINGS, Fla - Fresno State women's golfer Madchen Ly was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for Division I.

The criteria for selection to the NGCA All-American Scholar Teams are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, requiring a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Ly, a kinesiology major, led the Bulldogs as a freshman in 2011-12 when she was named first-team All-WAC and the WAC Freshman of the Year. Ly became the first Bulldog freshman since 2005 to earn either honor.

She competed in all 10 tournaments and was second on the team with a 76.03 scoring average over 29 rounds.

Ly led the team in par 3 and par 4 scoring with a 3.26 and 4.28 average, respectively, and had a low round of 72 at both the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown and Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. She finished second on the team with 49 birdies and was the only Bulldog with an eagle on her scorecard.
