FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's golf team will kick off their 2011-12 season in the Centennial State at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic hosted by Colorado State. The Bulldogs return to Colorado after placing ninth out of 17 teams last year in this tournament. Senior Louisa Lies tied for eighth place with a 1-under, 215 for her first of four Top 10 finishes last season. Colorado took home the team championship last year and Idaho's Kayla Mortellaro was the individual champion with a 9-under, 207.

The `Dogs lineup features highly touted freshman Madchen Ly, a native of Clovis, Calif., in the No. 1 spot. Ly comes to Fresno State after playing at Clovis High where she won back-to-back CIF Valley Championships her junior and senior years. Lies, the No. 2, was named second-team All-WAC last season for the second year in a row. Sophomores Hillary Billingsley and Krysta Clark and junior Shaylee Yano round out the lineup.
