FRESNO, Calif. -- With only a few holes to play in round two of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo., a traveling storm suspended play until Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Bulldog Madchen Ly sits in the top-20 of the 89-player field and leads the Bulldogs with a tie for 18th place. Through the day, Ly made four birdies and carded five-over par, 125 (78-47). Ly has six holes left to play in round two.
Playing in the first fall tournament of their tenth season, the Bulldogs sit in a tie for 14th place out of 17 teams. The 'Dogs carded 45-over par, 544 (314-230).
"I am proud of our ladies as they showed a lot of patience and determination today after a challenging start and some inclement weather delays," head coach Emily Milberger said. "They each learned a lot from the golf course today and are excited to get back out there tomorrow and put that knowledge to work for a strong finish."
The 17-team field will resume competition early Tuesday morning to finish round two. Immediately following round two will be round three. Due to the storm delay however, there will be no repairing for round three.
Cal leads the tournament at 10-over par, 513 (291-222) and Dana Finkelstein of UNLV sits in first place at six-under par, 113 (71-42) with six holes left to play.
