FRESNO, Calif. -- Competing in its first fall tournament of the 2013-14 season, the Fresno State women's golf team brought home a tie for 13th place at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo.

Leading the Bulldogs was Madchen Ly. Ly fired four-over par, 220 (78-71-71) and rolled seven birdies over three rounds of play. Ly moved from her day-one tie for 18th place to finish with a tie for 12th place.

"I am extremely proud of Madchen as she finished in a tie for 12th," head coach Emily Milberger said. "She had a slow start but rebounded with two great rounds. This is just a small glimpse into the successes she'll have this season!"

Facing tough weather conditions that delayed play on Monday, Sept. 9, the Bulldogs arrived at the 6,352-yard, par-72 Ptarmigan Country Club on Tuesday, Sept. 10 ready to face day-two of competition.

"It was exciting to have a solid finish today," Milberger said. "The ladies worked really hard to finish round two this morning and did a great job finishing this event off with a strong round."

In round three, the 'Dogs improved their round one score by eight strokes to record 306. On the tournament, the Bulldogs carded 69-over par, 933 (314-313-306) and made 20 birdies.

California took the team title at nine-over par with a score of 873 (291-296-286). UNLV's Dana Finkelstein claimed the individual title at four-under par, 212 (71-70-71).
