FRESNO, Calif. -- Facing its second tournament of the fall season, the Fresno State women's golf team travels to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the 34th Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational on Sept. 20-21.
"Everyone is excited to head to Albuquerque this week," head coach Emily Milberger said. "This is such a great tournament and golf course that we've got a lot of energy as we head back on the road."
"Coming off a tie for 12th at Colorado, I feel very comfortable about my game," Ly said. "It's our first time going to New Mexico, so I'm excited to see the course."
The two-day tournament will be held at the University of New Mexico's Championship Course. In addition to serving as the home course to UNM, this course held multiple Men's and Women's Division I NCAA Championships.
"There is a lot of momentum building among the ladies and I'm looking forward to some strong play this week," Milberger said.
Among the field will be Mountain West foes San Diego State, Nevada, UNLV, Wyoming and tournament host UNM.
The Bulldogs tee off the 54-hole tournament on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 a.m. PT with a shotgun start followed by tee times on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 a.m. PT.
Thus far early in the season, the 'Dogs have adjusted well to working with their new coach.
"Coach Milberger has great energy and is always willing to help the team out with anything," Ly said.
