FRESNO, Calif. -- The women's golf head coach Angie Cates-Moore announced the addition of Sandra Livas and Laura Scrivner to the Bulldogs' 2013-14 roster after the pair signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Fresno State.
Sandra Livas is from Monterrey, Mexico and attends Mandfield High School in Texas where she plays golf.
Livas won the District Championship by shooting five under par with rounds of 71-68. Livas success continued as she won the Torneo Annual Club Campestre Monterrey and the Texas Junior Golf Tour Championship.
"Sandy is coming in with a lot of great tournament experience," Cates-Moore said. "She has an outstanding work ethic and is a very determined athlete. Her personality is also a great fit with our team. Sandy's impact in our program will be felt as soon as she arrives on campus."
The second newcomer Laura Scrivner is a Fresno local who attends Clovis West High School.
Scrivner is a talented golfer and natural leader. Scrivner fired a two under par 70 at the Northern Area Championship where she finished 2nd.
"Laura is a very talented local up and comer," Cates-Moore said. "We are thrilled to have her join our program. She's also an outstanding student with great leadership skills and we know she has the ability to accomplish great things during her collegiate career. It's going to be fun watching her continue to develop."
The women's golf team looks forward to having the duo join the Bulldog family. The Bulldogs tee off their spring season on Feb. 16 in Stanford, Calif. at the Peg Barnard Invitational hosted by Stanford.
