STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --- The Fresno State lacrosse team fell to Wagner 9-5 on Monday morning at Hameline Field in Staten Island, N.Y.

The Bulldogs (1-1) were the first to score, with a goal from Marcy Levatino just five minutes into the game. The Seahawks rallied back and tied the game 1-1. Each team rattled off one more goal apiece to send the game into halftime tied 2-2.

The Seahawks then went on to outscore the Bulldogs 7-3 in the second half, scoring three of their goals in the last 15 minutes of play.

The Bulldogs were unable to recover the deficit and dropped their first game of the season to Wagner 9-5.

Senior Kara Concheck led the Bulldogs with a team-high two goals, while Anjelica Fuccillo, Allison Poust and Levatino all added one goal for Fresno State. Levatino and Kyleigh Westgarth also recorded one assist each.

Freshman Caroline Dineen-Carlson recorded a team-high four draw controls in her second game as a Bulldog.

In goal, senior Lisa Barnaba recorded a career-high 16 saves off of Wagner's 34 shots. Her 16 saves ties for second in the Fresno State record books for saves made in a single game.

After starting season with two road games, the 'Dogs are set to host MPSF opponent No. 18 Denver for their home opener in Bulldog Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 12 p.m.
