EUGENE, Ore.--- The Fresno State lacrosse team fell to UConn 19-8 in a nonconference game on Sunday afternoon at Pape Field in Eugene, Ore.
In the first ever matchup of the two teams the Huskies outshot the 'Dogs 40-19 and capitalized on all eight of their free position shots which led them to outscore the Bulldogs for the win.
Marcy Levatino recorded a team-high five points off four goals and one assist against UConn, which marks a season-best for the junior attacker.
With a personal-best five draw controls Freshman Kyleigh Westgarth helped Fresno State record 13 total draw controls which was topped by the Huskies 16.
Senior goalkeeper Lisa Barnaba recorded 12 saves in cage off of UConn's 40 shots.
Fresno State (1-7, 0-4 MPSF) returns to Bulldog Stadium to face Columbia on March 19 for its first matchup of the 'Dogs three-game home stand.
