Women's Lacrosse Returns to Bulldog Stadium

FRESNO, Calif.- After playing away from Bulldog Stadium for over two months, the Fresno State women's lacrosse team returns home to host Saint Mary's on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action. Saturday is senior day as seven seniors will be honored before the start of the game. The Saint Mary's game is also being tabbed as Family Fun Day. Fans can use their ticket from the lacrosse game to get in free to the baseball or softball doubleheader that will be going on after the lacrosse game ends. "We are so excited to be back at home and to play in front of our great fans," Fresno State coach Sue Behme said. "It has been almost two months on the road and I feel that we have handled this adversity very well. It will be great to play in Bulldog Stadium again and to honor our seniors." Prior to the start of the game Aja Scheuber, Andrea Alires, Chelsea Davis, Lorileigh Chung, Kristin Hoska, Stefani Jerifcoff and Molly Sovacool. These seven seniors have been instrumental in setting an example to the younger players as the Bulldogs have played their first season of lacrosse. "They have paved the way for our team in setting traditions and being role models," Fresno State sophomore Emily Erwin said. The Bulldogs are still looking for their first win of the season and they play a Saint Mary's team who is 1-7 overall. Fresno State is coming off a game where it scored a season-high eight goals against Presbyterian College. Heather Jack scored a season and team-best five goals in the game and she leads the team with seven goals on the season. Following Saturday's game, the Bulldogs head back to the East coast for games at St. Bonaventure, Johns Hopkins and Howard. Fresno State then plays its final home game on Monday, April 13 at Noon against the University of Denver. The first 200 fans that get into Monday's game will get a free hot dog. "Join the State - Fresno State!" - The `Dogs host St. Mary's Saturday, April 4 at 1 pm in Bulldog Stadium. It's Senior Day and all Bulldog Seniors will be honored before the game.
