FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's lacrosse team had a stellar year in the classroom as they had 11 student-athletes named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Academic All-Conference team. The 11 student-athletes named are the second most, only to Stanford's 14.
"I am extremely proud of the work our team did in the classroom this year," Fresno State coach Sue Behme said. "This team represents Fresno State with pure class on the field and in their field of academic studies."
Named to the Academic All-Conference squad were Lorileigh Chung, Molly Sovacool, Christina Cabias, Jennifer Smith, Kasandara Martinson, Krisdina Gehring, Stefani Jerifcoff, Amira Ferrell, Aja Scheuber, Andrea Alires and Emily Erwin.
To qualify for the academic team, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically, completed one full academic year at Fresno State and competed in 50 percent or more of the Bulldogs games.
