FRESNO, Calif. - Incoming Fresno State women's lacrosse players Sara Weber and Natalie Harrington have earned 2009 US Lacrosse High School All-American honors. Both players have signed National Letter of Intents and will be freshmen this year.
Weber, is from Coto De Caza, Calif., and prepped at Tesoro High School. She finished her high school career with 129 goals and 40 assists. As a senior she had 66 goals and 18 assists while winning 57 ground balls and forcing 23 turnovers.
She had 40 goals as a junior and 23 as a sophomore in 2007. In 2008, Weber was selected to the Pacific Team for the High School Girl's Annual National Tournament in Maryland. She also earned first-team all-county honors and was the high school team MVP along with a two-year team-captain.
Harrington is from Oregon City High School in Oregon City, Ore. She led her team to the 2009 state championship game and was named MVP of the game. As a senior, she scored 83 goals and had 22 assists while posting a shot percentage of 61 percent. Harrington won 75 draw controls and caused 25 turnovers in 18 games.
She is three-time first-team all-state midfielder from 2007-09 and was a member of the Oregon elite and Northwest teams. Harrington was named the 2009 Westside Lacrosse Oregon Player of the Year.
Weber and Harrington are two of eight players who Behme has signed for the upcoming 2009-10 academic year. The eight student-athletes will come to Fresno State from seven different states (California, Oregon, Ohio, New York, Georgia, Colorado and Maryland).
