FRESNO, Calif. --- Looking ahead to her third season at the helm, Fresno State lacrosse head coach Jessica Pausewangunveiled an exciting fall 2013 schedule on Tuesday. Kicking off their sixth year as a program, the 'Dogs look forward to three home dates among their four fall exhibitions.
Fresno State opens with its annual exhibition against the Fresno Men's Club Team on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. This is the fifth time the two teams have faced each other in the past six years.
The Bulldogs then host their first "play day" in program history on Oct. 12. In the round-robin style tournament Fresno State will face both Cal Poly and UCLA club teams in an all-day event.
The following weekend the 'Dogs host conference opponent St. Mary's for an exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m.
All home competitions will offer free admission and will be held on the Fresno State Soccer/Lacrosse Field.
The Bulldogs then wrap up their fall season at the Stanford Play Day on Oct. 26.
Pausewang returns 11 players this season, including 2013 All-MPSF selection Marcy Levatino. Bulldog fans will also get their first glimpse of the 13-person newcomer class -her largest recruiting class.
"I'm looking forward to having our freshmen get a chance to start playing competitively," Pausewang said. "We are off to a really great start, and I am excited to see where this team is going. We are going to face a great level of competition to help prepare us for the spring."
