FRESNO, Calif. --- Fresno State lacrosse head coach Jessica Pausewang unveiled a strong 2014 schedule on Tuesday afternoon.
Kicking off their sixth season, the 'Dogs look forward to six home dates on their 15-game schedule, five of which are Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matchups.
The MPSF which includes Denver, Stanford, Oregon, USC, St. Mary's, California, UC Davis and San Diego State is welcoming Colorado as its 10th team in 2014.
"The MPSF grew again this year with the addition of Colorado to our conference," said Pausewang. "I feel that the MPSF will be stronger as a conference for the 2014 season and will continue to catch the nation's eye for West Coast lacrosse."
In preparation for conference play, the Bulldogs kick off their 2014 season with a two-game road trip to the east coast to play Monmouth (Feb. 15) and Wagner (Feb. 17).
"Our main objective this season was to schedule strong non-conference opponents, and I believe we have succeeded," said Pausewang. "We are looking forward to going back east and playing two contests early in the season."
After opening the season with two non-conference matches, the 'Dogs return to Bulldog Stadium to host Denver for its conference opener on Feb. 23, at 12 p.m. Fresno State then travels to Los Angeles to play Marist on natural turf at USC's McAlister Field on March 2.
The 'Dogs return home for two MPSF games against Stanford (March 5) and newcomer Colorado (March 8) before heading to Eugene, Ore. to play Oregon on March 15 and Connecticut on March 16 on Papé Field.
The Bulldogs longest home stretch begins on March 19 when Fresno State hosts Columbia. They then face USC on March 28, and conclude their three-game home stand with St. Mary's on April 10.
Fresno State then finishes its season with four road games. They travel to California (April 15), UC Davis (April 18) and San Diego State (April 23). The 'Dogs regular season finale will be against first-year program Michigan in Ann, Arbor, Mich., on April 26.
"I look forward to having this team compete at a high level and can't wait to build off of the fall season," added Pausewang.
All home competitions will offer free admission and will be held in Bulldog Stadium.
