FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State junior Laura Dodd scored her third goal of the season against UC Davis and helped the Bulldogs to an early lead. The Aggies fought back forcing the game into overtime, where UC Davis scored the sudden death goal winning 3-2 Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs are 4-3 this season.
The Bulldogs increased their lead with a goal from senior Nicole Duff. Molly Nizzoli took a corner kick into the 6-yard box and Duff headed the ball into the back of the net. Duff has two goals this season.
The Aggies cut the `Dogs lead in half two minutes later with their first goal. Allison Kelly took a penalty kick and made it passed Bulldog goalie Kaitlyn Revel.
At the half time break, the Bulldogs lead 2-1. Fresno State outshot the Aggies 12-4 and Revel had 1 save in the first half.
Annacy Wilson scored the equalizing goal for UC Davis in 50th minute. Kiele Argente recorded the assist on the play.
The Bulldogs kept the pressure on throughout the second half and had one final attempt on goal in the final seconds of regulation time.
Four minutes into the first overtime period, Samantha Faber scored the game-winning goal for the Aggies.
The Bulldogs recorded a total of 23 shots in the game. Fresno State continues the home stand on Friday, Sept. 17 against UC Irvine at 7 p.m.
