FRESNO, Calif. --- Fresno State senior Morgan Castain scored in the 99th minute to secure a 1-0 Mountain West victory over UNLV on Sunday afternoon in Bulldog Stadium.

"We created a lot of really dangerous chances today, we knew it was just a matter of time," said Fresno State head coach Brian Zwaschka. "We are pleased and relieved, that was a very good team that we just beat."

Fresno State (5-7-1, 2-2 MW) and UNLV had 16 shots a piece during the first two periods, though neither team was able to find the back of the net.

The Bulldog's relentless defense was able to hold the 'Dogs in the game, recording their third shutout of the season in the process. Junior goalkeeper Katie DeVault had a huge save for the 'Dogs in the 88th minute to keep the score 0-0 at the end of regulation, pushing the game into overtime minutes.

In the ninth minute of overtime play Castain scored the golden goal off a cross from Shonice Myers to send the Bulldogs into their second victory of the weekend.

"Even though she played a lot of minutes on Friday, she (Castain) came back today with composure and put herself in dangerous positions today," added Zwaschka. "Again in the clutch she has shown that sharpness and we can't thank her enough."

With eight goals this season, Castain is now tied for first in the MW with San Diego State's Hannah Keane. DeVault finished the game with eight saves and is now second in the MW with 62 saves this season.

After getting a pair of home wins, the 'Dogs continue their four game home stand with two games in Bulldog Stadium next weekend. Fresno State hosts Utah State on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., and Boise State on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 12 p.m.
