    SAN JOSE, Calif. --- In another nail-biting victory, the Fresno State soccer team won its final regular season match over San Jose State, 1-0 on Friday night at Spartan Stadium to extend their unbeaten streak to eight games.

    After a scoreless 89 minutes to open the season finale, senior Shonice Myers scored her third game-winning goal of the year to send the Bulldogs into the Mountain West Conference Championships on a high-note.

    "I am really proud of the team for really responding the way we needed to in the second half," said Fresno State head coach Brian Zwaschka. "To finish it in dramatic fashion in the final minute was definitely a testament to our calm organization and commitment to the game plan."

    The goal also helped Fresno State snatch the No. 2 seed for next week's conference tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.

    Jaycee Bingham picked up her fifth assist of the season on the play. From five yards out Bingham crossed to Myers who tapped the ball in by far side post.

    Fresno State recorded its seventh shutout of the year behind strong goalkeeping from the schools No. 2 all-time saves leader Katie DeVault. The junior goalkeeper recorded two saves on the night.

    The Bulldogs finished their regular season with a 10-7-2 record and 7-2-1 conference record.

    Fresno State will open up MW tournament play in the semifinal round which will take place on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in Albuquerque, N.M.

    "I am thrilled for the team and we are excited to set ourselves up for success at the tournament," added Zwaschka.
