Bulldog Soccer Offers Two Camps in April

    FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer program is offering two camps this April, the coaching staff announced Monday. The Spring Break Day Camps (April 4-6), which includes the Young 'Dogs Day Camp and Youth Development Camp, and the April Identification (ID) Camp (April 22) will all take place immediately west of Bulldog Stadium on the White Lot.

    The Young 'Dogs Day Camp is for ages 4-11. It provides a fun learning environment for aspiring athletes where they will learn and develop basic soccer skills. The Youth Development Camp (ages 10-14) is designed to develop basic skills in a fun a challenging environment. The campers will also learn more advanced techniques and polish their existing skills. Both camps are just $99 and run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

    There is also a Youth Goalkeeper Camp (ages 8-14) that also runs from April 4-6 with the Young 'Dogs and Youth Development Camps. Priced at just $60, the goalkeeper camp is designed to develop a goalkeeper's skills in the areas of shot stopping, positioning, dealing with crosses, dealing with breakaway situations and distribution. The goalkeepers will be grouped according to age and ability level.

    This is the second ID Camp of the year offered by the coaching staff.

    "This camp is designed to show players what we do in our training sessions here at Fresno State," said Fresno State soccer head coach Brian Zwaschka.

    The ID Camp is targeted at girls aged 14 years and up who are interested in playing soccer in college and want to find out what a training session is like on the elite college level. The single-day camp (April 22) will consist of two 2-hour sessions led by the Fresno State coaching staff.

     

     

    "Everything we teach will be focused on the things that college coaches look for and will be based on themes that are applicable no matter what team you play for," added Zwaschka. "I highly recommend this camp to any aspiring player."

    Designed for both field players and goalkeepers, the ID Camp costs just $50 and includes both sessions.

    It will also include a tour of the athletic facilities and a Q&A session with the coaches and student-athletes. Interested athletes are advised to sign up quickly as space is limited to 30 players.
