"I am truly delighted to announce the addition of McAdam to our staff," stated Zwaschka. "She has been a consistent, hard-working assistant and goalkeeping coach for many years now."
McAdam joins the Bulldogs after serving as an assistant coach at Nevada from 2010-2013. At Nevada, McAdam helped transition the program into the Mountain West in 2012, guiding the Wolf Pack to one of the team's top finishes in three years.
"Her career to date shows steady progression and valuable learning experiences along the way, culminating in helping her most recent stop to the best finish they've had in years, in large part due to the influence of a sharp goalkeeping unit."
Prior to her time at Nevada, McAdam was a volunteer assistant coach at UCLA for two seasons. While working with the Bruins, McAdam was primarily responsible for the goalkeeping unit. UCLA made back to back NCAA Final Four appearances in 2008 and 2009 while McAdam was coaching.
"McAdam's experience will be invaluable for the continued development of our program," Zwaschka said. "She is ready to hit the ground running and I feel fortunate to be able to bring in a coach of her caliber that will bring so many new assets that I've been looking to add for a while now. She's passionate about helping me take the learning and energy level here up a bold notch."
“I look forward to working with the talented Student- Athletes here and for a great Athletic Department and coaching staff," said McAdam. “I am very excited to continue to create a positive learning environment where players and staff can achieve individual and team successes through hard work, dedication and discipline both on and off the field.”
A former goalkeeper herself, McAdam played collegiately at the University of Miami where she ranked No. 1 at the school in career saves (307), shutouts (15) and minutes played (5,796). A very accomplished player, McAdam also set a pair of single-season records as a junior in 2006, breaking the marks for shutouts (6) and goals against average (1.29). She was named an All-ACC Academic selection in 2006 and 2007.
The Simsbury, Conn. native earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from University of Miami in the spring of 2008.
