Bulldogs Host Eastern Kentucky

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team faces the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky, Friday Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium. Friday night's match up is the first meeting of the two schools. The Eastern Kentucky Colonels hail from the Ohio Valley Conference and have an overall record of 1-0-1.
Freshman Molly Nizzoli leads the team in goals with two, after scoring goals in both matches last weekend for the Bulldogs. She also leads the team in points with four.
"Molly has scored two goals for us in key situations," said Springthorpe. "She has been playing well and getting some opportunities for us when we needed them."
The Bulldogs return to the field after a challenging weekend losing matches 2-1 to both Cal State Bakersfield and Cal Poly. Sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlyn Revel clocked in 135 minutes of play with 11 saves and allowing only three goals.
The Eastern Kentucky Colonels got off to great start tying Western Kentucky 1-1 in their opening match. The Colonels went on to win their second match 2-0 against University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Friday night's game is Hawaiian night at Bulldog Stadium. September is youth soccer month and in support of that anyone in eighth grade and younger wearing a soccer jersey gets free admission.
"Join the State, Fresno State!" - The Bulldogs continue non-conference play at Bulldog Stadium on Friday, September 5 as they host Eastern Kentucky at 7:00 p.m. on Hawaiian Night. September is Youth Soccer Month. All youth soccer players 8th grade and under who wear their jerseys get in for free and the rest of their family is admitted for $2 per person.
