FRESNO, Calif. --- Fresno State senior Morgan Castain was named Mountain West Player of the Week on Tuesday morning by College Sports Madness. This is the second time this season that Castain was earned this honor.
Castain totaled three goals over the weekend to lead the Bulldogs to two conference wins at home over Nevada (3-1) and UNLV (1-0 OT) to improve the 'Dogs record to 5-7-1, 2-2 MW.
The senior midfielder scored the tying goal against Nevada in the 22nd minute and went on to score one more goal in the 'Dogs 3-1 win over the Wolf Pack on Oct. 4. Castain scored the game-winning goal in the 99th minute of overtime to get the 1-0 victory over UNLV on Oct. 6. The Castro Valley, Calif., native leads the Bulldogs with eight goals this season and is currently tied for first in the Mountain West with most goals.
The Castro Valley, Calif. native was also named MW Offensive Player of the Week and Fresno State Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, Oct. 7.
