2012 (SOPHOMORE): Selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 8 softball first-team ... was named the Verizon WAC Hitter of the Week for the first time in her career on April 9 after going 8-for-15 with six runs scored in a series sweep over Utah State ... one of five players on the team to play and start in all 59 games ... made every start at second base ... led the team for the second-straight year with a .312 batting average ... tied for second on the team with 12 multi-hit games, including four three-hit games ... scored 24 runs and had 18 RBIs ... connected for six doubles and four triples, which tied for the second-most in the WAC and ranked 27th nationally ... her 10-game hitting streak from March 30-April 20 tied for the longest on the team ... was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored in a win over LA Tech at the WAC Tournament, May 11 ... was 3-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and one run scored vs. Purdue, March 10 ... named to the BayerCrop Science All-Tournament team after going 9-for-18 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs scored in six games ... 2012 Preseason All-WAC.

2011 (FRESHMAN): Second-team All-WAC selection ... named to the Academic All-WAC team and the NFCA Scholar-Athlete Team ... one of two players on the team to start in all 54 games, as she made 25 starts at second base and 29 at third ... led the team with a .315 batting average and 52 hits ... hit five doubles and scored 25 runs on the year ... her two triples tied for the third-most in the WAC ... drove in 11 runs on the season, two of which came in a 5-0 win over Nevada on May 7 when she was 3-for-3 with a double and one run scored ... led the team with 16 multiple-hit games ... her 11 stolen bases ranked seventh in the WAC ... 2011 Fresno State's George Ilg Award Winner (Top Impact Freshman).

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year varsity switch-hitting shortstop letterwinner and strong academic performer ... a two-time first-team infielder ... in 2009, she hit .295 for LHS and scoring 19 runs while driving in another nine as her team went 22-8 ... in 2008, a second-team sophomore infielder after she posted a .361 batting average with a .454 on base percentage and led the team in runs and hits to help LHS to a 20-10 record and an appearance in the Division I section playoffs ... also played for the Runnin' Rebels and the Lodi Extreme .. with the Extreme, she was named the 16-U MVP at Babe Ruth as she delivered a .571 batting average.

PERSONAL: Born on Feb. 27, 1992 ... parents are Joe and Rose Ortiz ... has a younger brother, T.J., and a younger sister, Halle, who is the team manager ... former LHS teammate Tori Shepard plays for the University of Pacific ... interested in drawing (art) ... at LHS, an active member of the Friday Night Lights and CSF clubs ... favorite athlete is Natasha Watley because she was the person her dad wanted her to be like on the field ... biggest athletic thrill is winning ... most admires her mom and dad for pushing her so hard to succeed as she wouldn't be where she is today without them ... chose to attend Fresno State because of the great softball program.
