FRESNO, Calif. - Margie Wright's legendary career reached another trailblazing milestone on Tuesday night when Fresno State beat Bradley 3-2 for the head coach's 1,400th career victory.

"I am very proud to have coached some great ballplayers throughout the years who have known how to play with everything on the line," Wright noted of her journey to No. 1400.

Behind the power of Mackenzie Oakes' sixth complete game of the season, Michelle Moses' sixth home run of the year and key defensive plays, the Dogs built a 3-0 lead and staved off the Braves to finish their seven-game homestand with a 6-1 record.

All three Fresno State runs came in the bottom of the third when Brooke Ortiz crushed a single up the middle and Moses followed with a one-out, two-run shot deep beyond the left center field wall. Designated player Courtney Moore scored the eventual deciding run on a Caitlin Stiglich RBI single.

The Bulldogs set a program record in 2010 with 51 home runs and has continued its offensive firepower in 2011 with 12 home runs through the first 19 games, including Moses' two-run blast.

Oakes improved to 8-2 in the circle this year and tossed six scoreless innings before giving up a pair in the final frame.

"Our defense did great and our bats made solid contact," Oakes said. "The team did amazing and player very well."

Next up for the Dogs is the nation's only undefeated team - No. 4 Washington (19-0) - on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. to open play at the Judi Garmen Classic on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.

Fresno State (14-5) will face a gauntlet of tough competition during the annual tournament that includes three teams currently ranked in the Top 25 (Washington, Texas and Michigan) along with Big Ten opponents Penn State and Illinois.
