RUSTON, La. - The Fresno State softball team completed a three-game sweep of the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters with a 10-1 rout and 2-1 extra-inning grinder on a muggy Saturday afternoon in Ruston.

Fresno State (19-8, 3-0 WAC) dominated early and often in the day's early game that quickly turned into a rout.

The Bulldogs scored a run in each of the first four innings before notching four runs in the fifth and adding two more in the seventh.

Senior Haley Gilleland provided a pair of the Dogs' school-record tying three triples in the game and Rebecca Hall provided the other. Nicole Angene bombed a home run in the second inning and Rebecca Walker crushed an opposite field solo shot in the sixth.

As a team, Fresno State pounded a season-high 14 hits, including 10 for extra bases while Michelle Moses earned her sixth victory in the circle this year in the 10-1 win that went the distance.

In the series finale, the Bulldogs outlasted the Techsters as the pitcher's duel between the Dogs' Mackenzie Oakes (12-2, 2-0 WAC) and Tech's ace Megan Krieg was decided by Fresno State's key execution in the clutch.

Brooke Ortiz smacked a triple to the right field wall and scored on a sixth-inning suicide squeeze laid down by Courtney Moore to give Fresno State a 1-0 lead.

Louisiana Tech responded an inning later and forced extra frames with a seventh-inning home run.

The Dogs improved to 2-0 in extra-inning games when Diane Runge, who pinch ran for senior catcher Caitlin Stiglich after a hard hit single through the left side, scored from second base on a deep sacrifice fly by Angene in the ninth to push the Bulldogs past Tech 2-1.
