RUSTON, La. - The No. 22 Fresno State softball team had its 11-game win streak snapped when Louisiana Tech rallied in the bottom of the seventh for a 2-1 victory.
With two outs, third baseman Jessica Elson drove a 3-2 pitch over the 190-foot left center field fence and handed the Techsters their first victory over the Bulldogs in 16 tries with a two-run home run.
Louisiana Tech was held scoreless unti its last at bat. While freshman pitcher Robin Mackin struck out 14 batters prior to entering the final frame, the Lady Techsters got on base with a one-out walk before Elson's game-winning hit.
Sophomore second baseman Jenna Cervantez put the 'Dogs on the scoreboard first with a two-out double to left center in the fourth. With one out, Mackin singled through the left side and stole second before going to third base on a pass ball. She would score on Cervantez's double.
Mackin, who had her seven-game win streak halted, allowed three hits and walked two to go to 23-9 on the season.
Tech's Krissi Oliver allowed one run on seven hits and struck out four to improve to 10-10 overall.
