FRESNO, Calif. - For the third-straight semester, the Fresno State softball team posted a team grade point average of over 3.10, as the Bulldogs earned a 3.13 team GPA for the fall 2011 semester.

Fresno State had 16 of its 21 student-athletes (76.2 percent) post a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester while three student-athletes made the President's List with perfect 4.0 GPAs and six made the Dean's List with GPAs above 3.5.

"I'm extremely proud of the student-athletes who achieved a 4.0 and those who made the Dean's List," Wright said Tuesday, the same day the Bulldogs received votes in the NFCA and USA Softball top 25 preseason polls. "To have achieved a team GPA of over 3.10 for the third-straight semester, that's something we work really hard for, and I'm really proud of the team for doing that."

Junior outfield Diane Runge was one of three Bulldogs to make the President's List. Joining her on the President's List with perfect was newcomers Stesha Brazil and Kelly Megee.

Making the Dean's List were freshmen Taylor Green and Destinee Levesque, sophomore Brooke Ortiz along with Runge, Brazil and Megee. Runge has been on the Dean's and President's List every semester and Ortiz has been on the Dean's List all three semesters of her career, including twice being named to the President's List.

Wright now has coached 73 individuals who have combined for 188 honors on the Dean's List in the last 20 years.

The Bulldogs open the 2012 season with 10-straight home games, beginning on Feb. 9 with the Fresno State Kick-Off tournament.
