COLORADO SPRINGS, Calif. - Fresno State freshman righthander Taylor Langdon has been named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week for games through March 3. This is the first MW weekly accolade for Langdon this season.
Langdon picked up two wins over the weekend as Fresno State posted a 3-2 mark over the weekend at the San Diego Classic I. The Glendora, Calif., resident allowed only one earned run in 10.1 innings pitched. She had an ERA of 0.68, struck out three and allowed four walks in three appearances, including one start.
Against No. 12/10 UCLA on Friday, she pitched 1.2 innings of relief, surrendering two hits while allowing no earned runs (three unearned). Langdon worked the final three innings of Saturday's meeting with Utah State, giving up just two hits without a run en route to the 9-6 victory. In her lone start on Sunday against San Diego, Langdon retired eight consecutive batters after the Toreros led off the contest with a single.
She worked a career-best 5.2 innings and allowed one earned run on six hits, walking one and striking out two in the 8-1 victory. Only two of the 10 hits charged to Langdon over the three-game span went for extra bases, and opposing batters hit .256 against her.
