COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - After the team's top effort in the circle so far this year, Fresno State redshirt sophomore Kiley Shae Aldridge was selected as the Mountain West Pitcher of Week Tuesday.

The left-hander was rewarded for her 1-0 shutout versus No. 6 Washington in the finale of the Judi Garmin Classic Sunday.

In her first start in nearly two years, her nine strikeouts tripled her previous Bulldog best from this season and also 2012. She also limited the returning Women's College World Series advancer Huskies to three hits after they entered the game with a .358 team batting average.

Combined for the five tournament games, she led the team in ERA (0.00), fewest hits allowed (3), strikeouts (9), and opponent batting average (.130).

On the season, the Lompoc, Calif., native leads the team in ERA (0.51) and opposing batting average (.208), and has struck out 12 batters in 13.2 innings.

Among other recent Bulldog honorees in the circle, sophomores Jill Compton and Taylor Langdon combined for three honors in 2013, while senior third baseman Vonnie Martin was a two-time MW Player of the Week last season.

Other current 'Dogs honored with WAC Weekly Player of the Week honors include senior shortstop Brooke Ortiz (2012).

Team-wise last weekend in Fullerton, the `Dogs (12-8) staked their first wins vs. top-25 teams since February 2012, which also included Jill Compton's 1-0 shutout of No. 14 Nebraska on Sunday.

Also honored Tuesday, New Mexico's Jasmine Casados won her second straight MW Softball Player of the Week honor. The freshman third baseman went 6-for-7 (.857) at the plate with seven RBIs as New Mexico went 3-0 versus Detroit last weekend.
