    FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State softball travels north for the Capital Classic hosted by Sacramento State March 15-17. The Bulldogs play four games in three days facing the Hornets, Kansas, Texas State and St. Mary's.

    Fresno State Leading the Nation
    Sophomore Brenna Moss is leading the nation in triples hit with six this season. She is seventh in the country in triples per game with 0.23. The outfielder is also 16th in stolen bases per game with 0.73. As a team, the Bulldogs are eighth in the country in triples per game with 0.42. Sophomore Maria Sio has 0.38 sacrifice hits per game and is 10th in the nation.

    Freshmen Pitchers Shine at Fresno State Classic
    The 2013 Fresno State Classic was highlighted by three Bulldog freshmen having impressive outings in the circle. Taylor Langdon earned her sixth win of the season after throwing two scoreless relief innings in the `Dogs 7-6 win over Iowa State. Jill Compton dealt six scoreless and hitless innings against then-No. 6 Cal before the Bears homered to win 1-0. Compton struck out a career-high 10, including six consecutive strikeouts. Hannah Harris recorded her first complete game shutout as the Bulldogs defeated St. Mary's 8-0 in six innings.

    On the Road Again
    Fresno State is set to play 10 games on the road in the month of February, 11 in March and a total of 33 away from Bulldog in 2013. The Bulldogs third-straight road trip is March 1-3 at the San Diego State Classic I. The 'Dogs had a road record of 24-8 and 9-10 in neutral territory in 2012. The Bulldogs are 2-2 on the road and 4-7 in neutral territory this season.

    Scouting the Capital Classic
    Kansas: The Bulldogs are 5-1 after six meetings with Kansas. The last meeting was in 2006 and the Bulldogs won 6-0. Kansas has an overall record of 19-5. The Jayhawks led the country hitting .400. KU has 11 hitting .300 or better after 24 games. Maggie Hull is hitting .488 in 24 games started with eight doubles, a triple, four home runs and 31 RBI. Ace Alicia Pille has a 7-3 record in 12 starts in the circle. She has 91 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.17.

    Texas State: Fresno State owns a 3-1 record over Texas State. The Bulldogs won the last meeting 8-1 in 2005. The Bobcats have an overall mark of 3-19. Kellie Baker is hitting a team best .316 with two doubles and four RBI. Ashley Wright is 3-7 in the circle with 20 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.75 in 70.2 innings of work.

    Sacramento State: The Bulldogs have an all-time record of 31-10 over Sacramento State. The Hornets are 12-6 in 2013 and 1-2 at home. Paige Martin is hitting .383 after 18 starts. She has three doubles, two triples and eight RBI on the year. In the circle, Caitlin Brooks is 7-1 in eight starts and has a 1.35 ERA and struck out 51.

    St. Mary's: The Bulldogs face St. Mary's for the third time this season. In the first meeting, freshman Jill Compton recorded her first career no-hitter as the `Dogs won 4-0 and in the second meeting the Bulldogs defeated the Gaels 8-0 in six innings. Fresno State is 15-1 all-time against the Gaels and have won three straight. SMC is 4-14 on the year and 2-10 on the road. Megan Smith is hitting .327 in 18 games started. She has three doubles, a home run and five RBI. In the circle, Lujane Mussadi is 3-5 with an ERA of 2.28.
