    FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State softball heads down highway 99 to face CSU Bakersfield in its final midweek game of the 2013 season. Next the Bulldogs host Boise State April 12-14 for a three-game Mountain West series.

    About CSU Bakersfield
    The Fresno State vs. CSU Bakersfield series began in 1986 with the Bulldogs winning 5-0 and 2-1. The series was halted until 2008 when the `Dogs and Roadrunners met in 2008 for the first time in 22 years. Fresno State won that meeting 2-1. Earlier this season, the two programs met at Bulldog Diamond and after Kelly Megee lifted the `Dogs to a 3-2 win. The Bulldogs lead the overall series 4-0.

    Scouting the Roadrunners
    CSU Bakersfield is 10-23 on the season and 7-7 at home. The Roadrunners won three of their last four games coming into Wednesday's game. As a team, the Roadrunners are hitting .220 with 30 doubles, five triples, five home runs and 62 RBI. Karissa Veiga has started 33 games and is hitting .326 with four doubles, a triple and four RBI. She has an on base percentage of .421. In the circle, the Roadrunners have an ERA of 4.14 with a combined 109 strikeouts. Kelsie Monroe is 8-13 on the year with a 3.53 ERA and 78 strikeouts.

    Fresno State Leading the Nation
    Sophomore Brenna Moss is third in the nation in triples hit with six this season. She is sixth in the country in triples per game with 0.17. The outfielder is also 23rd in stolen bases per game with 0.61. Sophomore Maria Sio has 0.41 sacrifice hits per game and is third in the nation. As a team, the Bulldogs are 11th in the country in triples per game with 0.33.

    Mountain West Conference Corner
    In the first season in the Mountain West Conference, Fresno State is among the top 10 in several statistical categories. Brenna Moss leads with 22 stolen bases and six triples, while Maria Sio has tallied a MW best 16 sacrifice hits. Stesha Brazil is in fourth with eight home runs and trails the leader by two long ball. Hannah Harris has the third best ERA in the league (2.12). The `Dogs have the second best team ERA (2.73) and the most triples in the conference with 13. The Bulldogs also lead with 57 stolen bases.
