FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 9/10 Fresno State softball team will wrap up the 2008 regular season at home in a three-game WAC series vs. New Mexico State on Friday and Saturday at Bulldog Diamond.

The Bulldogs are just 1.5 games back from Nevada for the regular season title at 11-3 with three games remaining. Nevada finishes up the season at San Jose State this weekend. The Bulldogs and Wolf Pack are fighting for the No. 1 seed in next week's WAC Tournament in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

Head Coach Margie Wright has 1,299 wins in her career and is looking for her 1,300th in Friday's game.

Time Change for Saturday
Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by game two at 7:00 p.m. due to the game being picked up by CBS College Sports. The original start time for the doubleheader was 1 p.m.

Follow the Bulldogs
You can follow Fresno State throughout the season as all games can be viewed live through gametracker by logging on to www.gobulldogs.com and clicking on the gametracker link. Gametracker will be used to cover all of Fresno State's games, both home and away. Friday's game will be aired live on Comcast 14 with Sarah Teachey calling the action from Bulldog Diamond. The game can also be heard on 1430 ESPN Radio. Saturday's doubleheader will be aired on National TV, as CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV) will air both games with Tammy Blackburn and Jason Knapp calling the action live. Both game can also be heard live on 790 ESPN Radio the Deuce.

This Week's Matchup
New Mexico State enters the series vs. the Bulldogs with a 25-31 overall record and a 7-8 conference record which currently puts them in fourth, a half a game out of third behind No. 23/28 Hawai'i.

In the overall series between the two teams, the Bulldogs lead 18-1, with the only Aggie victory coming in 2001.

Last Week's Recap
Fresno State swept then-ranked No. 24 Hawai'i at home last week, winning game one 4-3 then two extra inning games, 3-2 and 2-1 in the bottom of the eight inning. The Bulldogs split with St. Mary's on Wednesday night, a 5-0 game one victory then falling 4-3 in game two.

Senior Night
Prior to Saturday night's game one, Fresno State will honor six seniors on this year's softball team. These seniors have led the Bulldogs to a No. 10 NFCA National Ranking, the teams highest in six years, and an impressive 45-8 record this season. They have guided the Bulldogs to three 40-win seasons, four NCAA Tournaments, two WAC regular season titles and one WAC Tournament title. Combined they have played in over 628 games.

The six seniors on the 2008 team are: Samantha Legorreta, Michelle Palazuelos, Lindsay Milchovich, Ashley White, Aja Scheuber and Jenna Cervantez.

National Polls
Fresno State moved up two spots to No. 9 in the USA softball poll this week and remained at No. 10 in the NFCA poll. The USA softball ranking is the highest ranking in the history of the four-year poll for the Bulldgos and the NFCA ranking ties the Bulldogs highest ranking of the season by the poll, and the highest ranking by the NFCA in six years.
