Bulldogs Host NCAA Region VI As Stanford, CS Fullerton and Tulsa Round Out Field

    FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State softball program continues its tradition in NCAA Division I Softball Championship play as it makes its 25th straight tournament appearance -- the only program in the country to qualify for all 25 Division I championships.

    Hosting their 20th NCAA Regional, the Bulldogs will serve host to the NCAA Region VI, which will feature No. 12 overall seed Stanford (38-15), Big West Conference tournament champion CS Fullerton (36-22) and Conference USA tournament champion Tulsa (34-22).

    Fresno State (35-17), which is won the Western Athletic Conference regular-season championship, also will be making their 21st consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Margie Wright.

    NCAA Region VI will run Fri.-Sun., May 19-21. Game times for Friday are set with Fresno State playing CS Fullerton at 5:00 p.m. and Stanford meeting Tulsa at 7:30 p.m.

    Tickets for the tournament go on sale to the general public on Tue., May 16 and can be purchased online at www.gobulldogs.com or through the Bulldog Ticket Office at (559) 278-3647.

    Twenty-nine conferences were awarded NCAA automatic bids and 35 received at-large invitations while the top 16 teams were seeded nationally.
